I just moved to Zurich to work in IT! — How I did it?
This article is going to be different from my previous one. I just moved to Switzerland, Zurich on August 6th, and here I will describe all the steps from getting a job to completely move to this city.
The first step is to get a job while you are still in your country, in Switzerland, everything is expensive, and get a job could take some time.
Getting a job
Honestly to get a job wasn’t something easy, the main reason was the language from what I understood. To get a job only speaking English is not something easy and Swiss people have priority by the law to get the job first, the company needs to justify why is getting someone from another country instead of contract in his own country. Here they speak mainly German, so I am guessing that probably people from Germany can get a job here easily.
In my case, from all the applications I only received 2/3 replies.
Where did I search for the jobs?
- Stackoverflow Jobs
- Glassdoor
Well, from all the applications sent, I never received a reply from Glassdoor applications, and from Stackoverflow Jobs I just submitted some of them, but I remember getting a response. Linkedin…
